Using Forum Theatre to start an assembly

20th and 21st September 2024

As interest in community-led democracy takes off, join Active Inquiry and Open Source to learn how to use Forum Theatre to energise your community assembly.

Using unusual, fun, interactive tools like Forum Theatre can make assemblies and other community processes more accessible and help develop a better shared understanding of the problems we're trying to address. Unlike conventional theatre, in Forum Theatre the audience engages directly with the performance, changing elements to see if we can get to a different outcome. The skills are fun and easy to learn and once you've got them, can be used in loads of different ways.

In this shourt, in-person course in Edinburgh, Gavin Crichton from Active Inquiry will take us through the process for developing and using Forum Theatre as a way of opening community-led assembly processes.
